Collection consists primarily of official documents of the Riker family of Newtown, Queens, and other areas of New York City. Bulk of the papers emanate from Richard Riker and Samuel Riker, attorneys, and some papers from John Riker, attorney, and Henry R. Riker. Some certificates of appointment and many wills of various Riker family members and property papers such as abstracts of titles for Riker and other families such as Leverich of Newtown, Queens. Inventories and other papers prepared by Lawrence family of Newtown. Numerous indentures and correspondence as well as some financial accounts of clients of Richard and Samuel Riker. In addition, some legal documents and papers concerning land Richard Riker leased to various individuals.
